MSC系統靈活性極高，即使僅配備基本單元也能實現最多8路輸入和2路輸出的安全應用。此外，該小型安全控制系統還可通過多種不同的輸入和輸出模塊進行擴展，方便用戶根據特定需求自定義裝配MSC系統。MSC系統還可使用不同的安士能連接模塊連接至各種現場總線。
MSC系統使用PC機上的“EUCHNER Safety Designer”軟件進行編程。該軟件布局清晰，操作簡單直觀。可使用大量不同的安全功能和邏輯運算符進行配置。如需設置系統，可通過USB數據線將基本單元連接至PC機并安裝相應程序。根據情況也可為基本單元選配存儲模塊。使用時，實際程序的拷貝會自動存儲在該模塊中，以便在緊急情況下快速更換故障裝置。
MSC有多種診斷方法，包括從通過前面板上LED指示燈進行簡單診斷，到在“EUCHNER Safety Designer”軟件幫助下進行詳細檢測。通過診斷可快速找到故障原因并修復問題，大幅節省時間并防止長時間停機。
